First portrait

I have been very scared for a while about doing portraits, mainly because I'm not so clued up on different shadings yet.
I tried to keep lining to a minimal on my portrait, so I only lined what was completely black and crisp, and the rest is just built up with a light, medium and dark wash.
Tell me what you think! The first picture is from when it was just completed, and the second is 2 days after- so you can see the slight scab on top.

I must admit it's strange seeing it as a whole piece, as whilst tattooing it, I was focusing on each small area, rather than a whole picture, I almost forgot it was a person, lol.

  2. I like this, you obviously understand tonal range and have applied this very gently to give smooth fade out. I agree first portrait is a frightening task but really enjoyable when confidence kicks in.
